Theoretically, our elected people work for us, but in recent decades they brazenly defy that founding principle, and seek to impose their will on us. Whether it's for power, money or fame it's wholly unacceptable and unAmerican. There is no indication that the political class is more useful, intelligent or productive than any other class of Americans. But politicians want you to believe it, and that's why Trump's election is so dangerous to them.
