Hi Chip,

I'm privileged to hunt on my own small 40 acres.

Lots of corn fed deer here in Wisconsin.

If I'm able to kill 2 deer ,I keep the roasts and tenderloins and we do like to eat organic meat. They eat corn and soybeans when the fields offer it, and then winter gives then seeds and little else.

Since I've bought my Mom's place , I've planted food plots to help them winter better.

When a young boy my Dad would take me deer hunting elsewhere. Fortunately the deer population has prospered on my own small parcel.

I butcher my own meat and keep the roasts and finer cuts wrapped in saran wrap and freezer paper.

My friend has a meat market and he grinds the other cuts into a burger mixed with rib eye beef tallow and pork tallow.

Makes for great meat balls with Jan's seasoned sauce from our garden and of course the good ole sloppy joes.

Since I no longer get wined and dined at dealer 20 group meetings, I've found a very simple lifestyle to be content and rewarding.

I'm very much OK with finding harmony with my land and working hard to maximize its diversity.

Life has been good and I'm enjoying it at my reduced stress lifestyle.

Congrats on your great market calls - you amaze me with your pitchfork expertise and an unknown acquired level of knowledge.

Good to hear from you my long time friend.

Bob
