Yes, true. But the problem is that when you convince yourself that you can do anything at all to win because your goal is so virtuous, you can easily end up like LBJ, getting trapped in an unwinnable war. Politics is a very tricky and dangerous business. Very easy to deceive yourself with simplistic goals. Very hard to really address complex situations. Confirmation bias deceives and compassion fatigue while fighting multiple wars on multiple fronts enervate.
