To Centura's Management,

I am a patient Centura shareholder since 1994. Although I averaged
down over time this invesment has been a total disaster. I still remember an article, from Unix World, comparing Umang Gupta to Ray Noorda and mentionning that according to analysts CNTR would grow to $250M in annual sales within 2 years...

Before I always believed that this Company could achieve a real and complete turn around. I no longer believe that CNTR can even survive as an independant entity. The competition is just too intense and from Companies that havent a lot more marketing resources. Borland is your smallest competitor...

On the brigth side, Centura can offer a lot of synergy to the right buyer/partner:
1. Highly skilled software engineers.
2. Still a decent customer base.
3. Good Products.
4. Tax loss carry over ???

I think that CNTR can bring the best value to a package vendor because they make a high usage of tools and they could sell them to their customers that want to maintain and/or customize their packaged application. Also the new owners would have a database to bundle for their small clients that are not willing to pay another vendor like Oracle.

Now it is time that Centura's management does something for their shareholders and find a good buyer that offer at least the perspective of a good long term investment.

Wake up before it is too late!!!
