Susan Rosenberg@AIRTOUCH 01/16/98 10:56 AM I'm respondingÿ to your request for information about Airtel.ÿ We have stated publicly that AirTouch is opposed to an IPO at this time because there is uncertainty about the future role of certain Airtel partners and the company's business strategy.ÿ Because this is a private matter being discussed by the partners, it's not appropriate for us to comment further.
