Republicans!!: 1950's: I remember the House of Unamerican activities in the 50's. 1960's I remember how the Republicans sided with the racists against the 1964 civil rights act. 1970's: I remember how Nixon and the Republicans extended the Viet Nam war for years so he could win reelection and how hundreds of thousands of people were killed and maimed during that time. And lee Atwater's Southern strategy which helped the racists in exchange for their vote. 1980:" I remember how Reagan and the Republicans brutalized the unions, middle class and poor for eight years. And dramatically increased income inequality. 2,000's I remember how Brush started two wars for no reason except to steal the oil in Iraq and caused the pain and suffering of millions. And how he robbed the people and gave it to the rich in direct money with obscene tax cuts for the rich, just as he fought the wars without raising taxes but, cutting them..How he allowed the banks to cheat the world with fraudulent CDO's and CDS's. How he dragged this country through the mud for eight years and how the Republicans backed him.. And how the Republican engaged in TORTURE! Real torture and against the law which they ignored. And now Trump. Why would anyone join that sick ass party?? The House Un-American Activities Committee - HUAC had the purpose of investigating people that were suspected of unpatriotic behavior - communism. The government believed that the communists were placing messages in Hollywood movies and because of that 320 people were associated with communism and their name was placed on a blacklist. This period is known as McCarthyism because of Senador Joseph McCarthy that led the investigations.People who were blacklisted lost their jobs and spouses, could not find work anymore and had to move to Europe or other countries.
