That depends on how much time you have! This $5000 is only for the purposes of the experiment that is on this thread. In my opinion it is far from an optimum amount to begin daytrading with..The risk is extremely high and weeks like Jodi just had are far from the norm!
I think any amount of money could be managed successfully but with larger amounts of money it would be prudent to reduce the risk factor substantially. With daytrading you have to watch your portfolio like a hawk as your gains can turn to losses in minutes. The entire thing really boils down to supply and demand in my opinion. Everything in the economic world I believe can be broken down into only those 2 components. Also remember on this thread the reality differs somewhat in that we are not accounting for some overhead expenses..not the least of which are broker fees and TAXES! So this is not a completely realistic picture but you can be certain that even with the overhead added Jodi has had an incredible week! She played some high risk stuff and won. It isn't as easy as it looks or you would have seen more people with those types of gains. Remember don't bet what you can't affor to lose..and make your own decisions. This is a very risky game.
