Electric,

You have an excellant point, and your illustration of the SPX is the main reason why I don't play it. The premiums are very high and the the returns are relatively very low. One benefit to it is that it is a broad base index, but thats about it.

There are many other indexes to play which returns are much better as compared to the premium. It takes more work to find these indexes just as it is to find an individual stock.

That's one of benefits of my GUITAR which helps me decide which index to play. So far I have played 13 different indexes, and some are better than others. I have noticed that the OEX is the hardest to make money from due to its relatively smaller oscillations.

I agree that one way to play the OEX,SPX is to go deep in the money, but another way is to pick another index which better fits the environment.

Right now my only position is XAL FEB 690 PUTS, which I obtained today when the index was at 688.
