Whole Foods sells a liquid which can calm cats. (They have one for humans too.) My vet recommended it when I flew with my cats to the PNW. They were in their crates for at least 15+ hours (plane diverted) and never exhibited any problems. When we finally got to the house and I let them out, they went to investigate, rather than drink, eat or pee!
