I am inclined to feel that way too. They have not really made any fundemental changes in their system, and they persist in their old ways of trying to cover things up. Their loses in the rest of asia, it seems, have only increased, and the Nikei is still less than 15000.
If the HK dollar peg loosens, it could cause a major slide. I saw Rubin on Jim Lehrer tonight. I am sure they are watching HK closely. They have raised interest rates in HK to defend the currency, but it hurt the real estate sector, followed by the banking sector, not to mention the Hang Seng. They have plenty of $ reserves to defend their currency, as per Japan.
I wonder what will happen next. Boy its fascinating to watch history unfold and wonder which way its going to turn.

Thanks Zeev
