Smithee, due to excessive pollution in the big cities like Saigon and Hanoi you should consider wearing a dust mask. I came down with severe allergies after inhaling so much dust while walking 2 hours through Saigon on an afternoon with 90 degrees and high humidity. The allergies got better when we left Saigon for quieter places (My Tho, Mui Ne). As for the heat/humidity: get used to it, because you can't avoid it.
