I would right click on my desktop and create a new folder. Name it. Then open it. Now open the folder in Thunderbird and highlight the first email.

Now hold the shift key down and use your down arrow to highlight the rest of the emails. Now hover over the highlighted emails and copy them. Now mouse click once in the desktop folder and paste the emails in it.

Close that folder and drag it into your thumb drive window.

I’m making the assumption that this process will work with Thunderbird. I know it will work with an Outlook folder.
