what law did meng violate?

she was a director of a hong kong company owned by a mauritius company, where the hong kong company might have done trade between supposedly china and possibly iran, and the trade might have been cleared through HSBC, a dual HQ bank based in London and Hong Kong.

she was arrested in Canada on orders of NYC prosecutor

and she is supposed to defend herself against wronged party albeit such supposed wronged party was under duress and made no voluntary complaint, and so far as we know, made no complaint, and certainly NYC has no standing in the case unless USA laws can be applied to foreigners doing things in foreign lands.

Should the deal go through, am guessing there would be a lot of arresting to happen, including of lawyers who are ex-city prosecutors who arrange for kidnap of foreign nationals on foreign lands

meng was not visiting usa, and had no intention to go to usa, because she knew there would be trumped up charges, just as khashoggi knew knew going to the saudi consulate entailed danger, albeit technically at least the saudi consulate in turkey was sovereign saudi territory where murder is sometimes allowed as interpreted by neo conservatives
