Tonto: I always approve of stock buy back programs. However, the
success of a buyback program would be contingent upon an actual
huge short position existing. Let us say that such a thing exists
in this case. A huge "naked" short position would run the price up.
Then an underlying business would be necessary maintain the stock
price and prevent a sharp exit and crash of the price. As suggested
by Ron wouldn't a stock holders meeting be a very good way to
determine if large a position actually exists. I don't know of a way
to determine if a "naked" short position exists without all stock
being accounted for by the company. After all stock is accounted
for investors would have a much better idea of how close a potential
squeeze may be.

Do you think it is possible that a squeeze already occurred? That
would explain the swift 10X to 20X rise in price. A covering tied
with investor interest, news etc. could have been responsible for
that.
