So, the biggest threat to Americans is the American police state. That is absolutely false. Police don't go door to door picking up innocent people. They apprehend those doing or having done illegal activity. They investigate or make contact with others. Who may raise suspicion of, or actively conspiring to engage in an unlawful act. It is called crime prevention. The confrontations are due to the targeted individual or individuals. Arises when the suspect refused to cooperate, tries to flee , or gets insolent. Instead of cooperating and allowing the officer to do what they are paid to do on the taxpayers dollar. I have been stopped or spoken with police officers in various countries I have been in. And Never have I been miss treated. If they ask a question I answer it honestly. I have nothing to hide. As a matter of fact in a strange town if I can't find what I am looking for or seek direction, Unsure of a rule. I will approach an officer, flag down a patrol car or even go to the detachment. If a person or family member is charged or lands in jail. It was done because committed a violation. Not because they were innocent. I received a call one night about 1am. My daughter at the age of 18 was stopped driving in the neighboring town some 30 miles away. Said she was given an alcohol Breathalyzer test. My car was towed and they took her to the station. and the female officer asked if I would I would come and get her. I asked if she would be safe if I left her in their care till morn. The officer said they has a single cell they could put her in. My answer was great I think it will be a lesson she will remember. I understand she cried most of the night. Now over 40 she absolutely will not get in the drivers seat if she has had even a sip of beer. She went on to be a lawyer and is married to a police officer. The subject has came up from time to time She says it was lesson she will never forget. It made he realise even though her brother was a RCM Police officer at the time. She still was not above the law. It gave her no immunity. Drunks die or kill others on the road every day. Perhaps it kept her alive for us. I am in full support of law enforcement 100% I have been all my life. I believe they have the most thankless job ever. Always criticized . The people who scorn them are the first to call when in need. When every one is running from danger. The police who people scorn are asked to run toward it risking their lives to save others. There are a few officers with a power chip on their shoulder. It usually only takes a few words from their Watch Commander to brush it off. There is even some questionable people who preach the faiths. They too are also a minority in the larger flock.
