This is something that I wrote about 6 months ago and updated in November. Haven't had time to update again, but recent news certainly reinforces my concerns and magnifies the problem.

Think "Year 2000" (Y2K) is only a technical problem? Well ... you're wrong. Year 2000 problems impact our entire infrastructure .... in areas you can't even imagine...

John: You already know the problem. Just thought the above would be of interest to others.

I get back to Houston Sunday. Am dismantling this computer system today and giving it to my nephews. This will be the 3rd computer in the house (compliments of Auntie). 2 Pentiums for the older boys & 486 for my 4-yr old niece! My access to internet has been limited this past month - only one phone line and many family obligations. Will get back in the swing of things over the next couple of weeks.

Your research, thoughts and analysis are amazing. Both in terms of quality and quantity.

Josef: Great info you've been providing on utilities. I'm jealous you were able to get together with Roleigh, and I haven't yet.
Could you please re-post the Cassandra link. Thanks.
