I did the #nanowrimo mostly to encourage some other authors I know.. to get some writing done.
I got heavy into research, because even though it is fiction, the primary story lines will be based on
science. The research is rather depressing. I stopped for a couple of weeks, then started back.
It's coming along pretty well. Locations are Coon Rapids, MN, Seymour, MO, and Regina, Alberta,
with a side trip into Oklahoma on the way to the Colorado Rockies. From what I can tell, land values will shoot up in the Yukon, among other places.
Characters are all related, dealing in their own areas with aspects of climate about 100 years from now.
It'll be out in a few months, hopefully late spring. |
