From my perspective, shorting high pe/no pe stocks because of the valuation factor is a good way to the poorhouse. The trend is your friend and as long as these stocks remain in solid uptrends, there is no reason to short them. The bears on stocks like AOL YHOO AMZN, etc have been beaten mercilessly and I have no plans on joining them. I don't care if the valuation is ridiculous, the time to short them is when they break their uptrend. Otherwise, I like to buy stocks like this on breaks or at support, but wouldn't go short.
