Incidental drones
or
Ultrawideband

Extreme technology that is debuting right now offering a whole new host of capabilities. It fits fine in here and the drone issue just made a good segue. The new UWB Alliance was just announced yesterday and even though the word drone is in the article I am pretty sure it is not about drones per se but about this new tech. I am not going to post it on the drone thread but the drones segue worked well here under the same extreme tech area of interest. That drone seemed more like a familiar. You too could learn about ultrawideband if you chose to focus on something other than the drones. UWB has a host of new uses and promises to harness a whole new slew of capabilities. Have you seen any motes?

UWB was approved for use in 2002 to some controversy. The UWB Alliance announced yesterday is going to promote this technology for a broad range of uses. Ioun stones were quite valuable in D&D and could confer all sorts of powers on those who employed them. I know there is a Troll and Ogre Investment advice thread somewhere where the Ioun stone comments would be more appropriate but it isn't really tech related at all you know.
