Rarebird,

Trump might have appointed 90% of the voting members but they are going out of their way to distance themselves from his pleadings to hold off on rate hikes. What does this mean? Are they smarter than President? Evidence proves otherwise with Trillions recently wiped from the economy.

Has inflation reared its ugly head? No. I don't know how old you are but I remember the late 70's early eighties when inflation was running rampant and the fed jacked up rates to nearly 20%.

The Fed's actions have directly threatened the Trump economy with its hysterical single minded interest rate rises. Their actions are so disgusting especially in the face of falling oil prices. The oil price is a huge influence on the direction of inflation.

As for gold I predict a short term flight to "safety". If the Fed continues to reel out of control, then we will
be entering a period of such economic uncertainty that the most valuable commodities will be lead and copper. (Bullets).

But I'm hoping sanity will prevail at the Fed, Therefore gold in my opinion will eventually drift lower.
