Well put, nice that you found a clip from Silicon Valley that illustrates your point perfectly.

Unfortunately, DragThing will be dying along with all other non 32-bit apps next year once the the new version of macOS 10.15 is released in the fall of 2019. DragThing's developer says it never sold that well (and he makes far more money from his calculator app for iOS), but I consider it one of if not the most important app I use.

Here is a continually updated list of 32-bit apps with their status for moving to 64-bit, if anything is known:
