Sorry to get semi political, but I don't understand why Mnuchin decided to send out this little piece of good cheer. Did he think this would have a calming effect on the markets? I think the message has the exact opposite effect - people saying if this is what the Fed puts out, there must be something wrong.
And, the political part of all this involves Mnuchin putting out this PR from Mexico, of all places, while he is on vacation!
