There's always a chance, of course.

However, this is my read on the situation. I am generally very skeptical of analyst reccomendations. One thing analysts tend to do pretty well is "identify the obvious". Peoplesoft is such a success story in a very hot industry - technology / software, that at some point after year after year of solid management and beating estimates that the bandwagon is likely to become very full. Of course, it is natural to want to associate with a success story.

I think that given PSFT's history and future prospects, there is very little downside for analysts to rate the stock a raging buy. Most will probably rate it highly until such time as it looks like there may be slowdown in its momentum. The momentum has been strong for the last 5 years, and there do not appear to be significant reasons to believe this will end for the forseeable future.

This is a very special company !

Rationally Exuberant, John.
