If you don't manage to get the Netflix app on your TV working well you could always connect another device to the TV, and use the app on that. A Roku, an Amazon box, whatever. You wouldn't be able to just press the Netflix button on your remote (there may be a Netflix button on the remote of your new device but you would have to switch to display the output of the device first so one extra step). You could connect the new device either with ethernet or wireless.
