John, I suspect you are right that this is something Dr. Katz 'negotiated'. I spoke to someone today who is a portfolio manager who does a lot of biotech investing and knows most of the major players in the field. He has never heard of HealthMed. I described what little we know about the deal and he didn't like the sound of it. He is going to check around for me next week and I will let you know what I hear. His opinion on first blush was to stay away from the deal. My own opinion is that I still like the prospects for the products but there are aspects of this transaction that are worrisome. I am going to stay in my postition for the time being but will not buy anymore. We need more information about this transaction and we need it soon. Also you and the others should be aware that Investor Relations at Lidak read this thread. My name was recognized when I spoke with them. I assume they are reading this as well and would strongly request that they speak to management about communicating with their shareholders and more importantly about representing the interests of all the shareholders. I will be eagerly awaiting more information. Portfolio managers are not my only friends in the securities business.
