If there's a special box to insure Netflix works, then that's where I'd direct my troubleshooting efforts. Contact Cox and tell them the trouble you're having with Netflix, since you haven't mentioned you've tried that. It could be that it needs to be reset or replaced.

That is an unusual setup to be sure. We don't have Cox cable in my state and I've never heard of a setup like yours.

Also, if you're paying extra for it on a monthly basis, you might consider getting a Roku, Apple TV, or other 3rd party streaming box instead. You'll only pay once for it with no recurring fees other than those from the streaming services themselves.

However, you will need to make sure you have adequate wireless bandwidth to the streaming box and use a minimum of the wireless N protocol for best results. That will depend on your router, and anything made within the last 7 years or so should work, but newer is better and check the brand and model of the router to be sure.
