Right, John. Gates is always 18 moves ahead of everybody. There's no hope. Microsoft will rule the world. All those crybabies in Redmond, who don't understand why they're catching all this flack now for "standard Microsoft business practices"- that's just another clever ploy by Bill, the old "wounded Microsofty" play for sympathy.

As for DOJ forcing MSFT to remove the sacred icon, that's a new one. What I remember is Microsoft threatening to pull the plug on Compaq for having the timerity to fragment and fracture the integrity and uniformity of the Windows Experience, by removing said sacred icon. Why don't you at least get in step with the current company PR line, start showing a little (artificial, of course) humility.

Believe it or not, there is some indication that people other than the rable are starting to wonder about Bill the brilliant strategist and his perpetual little games with the software the world is supposed to rely on for the next millenium. See businessweek.com .

68% think the feds should pursue Microsoft. What's more, 59% believe the software giant abuses its power.

CIO's, John. Not random grunt programmers or commies. No big deal, of course, once the brilliant global strategist gets a PR line together that sticks. Offhand, though, I'd say Libertarian/Objectivist theory is not going to do much good on the hearts and minds front.

Cheers, Dan.
