Glen, as I understand the deal, CKE will assume Advantica's debt in the restaurants. I imagine that if the combination of debt and cash is insufficient the company will issue more debt. Remember that it is the ratio of debt to equity that's important here. Since interest rates are currently quite low, I would guess that any additional long-term bond offerings would come to market at under 7%.

In regard to the stock dividend, it's my understanding that CKR will trade ex-dividend on January 20 (i.e., Jan 20 is the effective day of the split). Am I incorrect?

P.S., I note from your profile that you are a vegan. I became a vegetarian (although I include milk and rarely some seafood in my diet) about two years ago, and have discovered the joys of hot peppers. I grew my own habaneros last summer, and they were great!

Regards,

Paul
