Bionx knee repair market share grows

SAN FRANCISCO, Jan 14 (Reuters) - Bionx Implants Inc is adding new
accounts for its Meniscus Arrow knee repair system at a rate of 125 to
150 hospitals and surgical centers each month, president and chief
executive officer David Anderson said Wednesday.
Speaking at the Hambrecht and Quist Healthcare Conference here, Anderson
estimated the company had penetrated only 10 percent of its potential
market, and had ''a long way to go.''

He said the rapid addition of new customers would continue to fuel a
''very dramatic revenue growth rate.'' He said gross margins on the
Meniscus Arrow are in the 75 to 80 percent range.

Bionx's Meniscus Arrow is a treatment that repairs torn knee cartilage
in a safer and simpler manner than the standard suturing procedure.
