<<<Hi William,
It's Uncle Blinky. How is the weather up there in Redmond? It's raining here, but Grace got her brother to fix that leak in the roof last week, so we're quite comfy. William, I know you're busy with that big company there and all, but I wanted to ask you about something. You know I saw in the paper that you have to pay $600,000 in property tax this year on the old homestead. Now, I don't mean to pry, but that seems a little high for property tax, and I was talking to the man down at Mr. G's Discount Computers, (you remember him, his nephew was up in Cambridge when you were there), and he told me he bought some shares in this company called ASCENDING COMMUNICATION. He said they make a lot of good stuff, better than the other people. Well, I don't know about that, but he seemed sincere. Anyhoo, he said that he was pretty sure that the shares would go up pretty soon, (like I said, I don't know about this stuff, but he seemed to know what he was talking about). So here is my idea, and it's OK to say no. If you got about 100,000 shares, and then the stock went up 6 dollars, then you could pay for your property tax. Mr. G. says you ought to do it before next Wednesday, because he thinks the shares might be more expensive next month. If that is true, maybe you should get a few million shares. Grace says you can never have enough of a good thing. (She cracks me up sometimes.) Oh, and William, please don't upset Janet like that. Grace says she's worried. She says Janet has that Tommy Lee person and that Will person and that Will has the noisy cricket, and she's seen Janet when she gets cranky and, well you know how that goes.. Grace says you should cool off, and that you'll know what she is talking about. Incidentally, young Steven hasn't been in touch for a very long time. Did you boys have a falling out? I know it's none of my business, but Grace says he owes you some money. Maybe you should give him a call and try and straighten things out. Just a suggestion. Well, William, that's all for now. You take care and please think about my idea. And don't forget about the noisy cricket. Love, Uncle Blinky>>> |
