Thanks for following up on it, glad you figured it out.

Sounds like your Sony TV was getting Netflix through the built-in app and doing so wirelessly. The picture/sound and overall experience will be poor if the TV has a slow or intermittent wireless signal, so you may have set up a wireless connection on the TV when you set it up and not remember it (it can have both a wireless and cable connection at the same time, most do these days). In fact, most TVs with wireless capability made in the last few years will walk you through connecting to it during the setup process.

I should have thought of this before, but you can post troubleshooting questions about Netflix or anything else related to a home theater experience on my Home Theater Systems - Designs, Products, Tips and Info thread. That way we can keep this thread for Netflix investment and company related information.
