There has been a lot of talk about the recent government shutdown. But when has the government ever really been open? Over 2/3s of the volunteers who were first responders during the 9/11 attacks have passed away from respiratory diseases and cancer because they could not afford medical help and the government did nothing to help them until 10 years later when it was too late. And all I hear from the current President is how we must stand and pledge allegiance to the flag. For all the Americans who have dropped dead over the years due to insufficient funds to obtain medical treatment, I am not only embarrassed and disgraced to be an American, but think the best appropriate action in regard to the Flag is to piss on it. With the exception of the current 127 members of Congress who support Medicare for all, I only wish the worst for the other members of the House, Republicans and Democrats alike.
