That's a real stretch, don't you think? I thought this company had a chance of delivering a superior product long before I spoke with Chait simply on the credentials and accomplishments of who it attracted.
Esping's got his $300MIL plus in the bank, do you? I sure as hell don't. Granted Titow didn't stay, but something interested him enough to put the golf clubs away and bring him out of retirement, and he's got more cash than Esping probably ever will. Brady could have stayed at IBM living the good life. Chait was running a 600 man dept. at SRI to go to Zitel. Northup, OAO, FDC, Registry, you want me to believe all this adds up to a Bre-X? I don't think so.
Hey look they've screwed up, misread the market, broken promises, but betting on Zitel is the only way to bet on MD cause that's where the bet really it. Whoever came up with the $14MIL MD spent last year thinks so too. Let's remember what these guys were shooting for. According to the BRCP contract with MD filed with the SEC, the performance criteria spelled out find, fix, and test rates of 99% plus accuracy @ 44million lines per month with a cost of production per line at less than 2 cents (approx.) Sure they didn't make it but what would BRCP have to "see" from MD's product to sign a contract in Oct/Nov (?) '96 specifying those levels of performance with bonuses paid if MD achieved them starting 2 months later in January?? The question for me is how close are they now, one year later.
Bottom line, it's my money, my bet, and where I come from poker's played with 5 cards, not 2. I don't care if short's are holding 2 aces, I want to see the rest and I'm not leaving the table till I do. :))
You have a good night. Deep Digm |
