Recall we started off with just people voting on the best team. Then because there was typically a debate over two teams, we went to two. But when you expand to two, now you have another team to compare with all the others for suitability, causing yet another debate. But you just can't have three, so you jump to four. Next would be eight. You could do six, but then two teams would have to get byes and sit yet another week. If you add a week, you might as well add two more teams. Eight is just silly. Football is a violent sport. We talk about kids sitting out bowl games to make sure they don't get injured for the draft, and now you are asking kids to potentially play an extra three post-season games? Not happening.
