Since you want a removeable drive, I strongly suggest you take a look at Syquest SparQ for $199. It is 1 Gigabyte (10 times larger than Zip) and is more than 5 times as fast (parallel port ext, or EIDI Int.) SparQ discs sell 3 for $99. That is about 1/3 the price of Iomega's Jaz.

Also, a company called Castlewood is coming soon with a drive called Orb. The $199 Orb is 2.1 Gigabytes (21 times the capacity of Zip) and uses Magneto-Resistive technology. This is the same technology that all of the hard drive makers are just now turning over to nowadays.

Comparable Iomega products are more expensive than the competition. Plain and simple.
