I suspect it just a swipe at the Americans which you seem to enjoy doing. But I will observe that CIA misdeeds in South America did become widely known and written about in the American press. As a result the CIA is much more constrained today by congressional oversight. Fact is, I suspect that The CIA, by comparison to most other intelligence agencys in the world, operate with considerable more restraint then, for example, the Mossad or MI6. Its one of the advantages of our system of democracy and a very clear example to me that it can, and occasionally does, work. Best, Stitch
