Najib,
and all the f...in do is sell PCS over the phone, Now everybodyelse does the same......even compuware makes build to order PCS......and if you really believe in dell then I suggest you take some puts to cover your ass.........And besides Compaq has a lot of cash, and better managment, Mike dell is an idiot, the best idea he came up with in the last few months is purchasing shares back.....and you know what that tells me, he has nothing better to do with the money
Well, that post was certainly well calculated (?) to get my attention. 1. First, if you are going to post on this thread, please refrain from using obscenities. If you believe that they are necessary to make your point, then your arguments are evidently long on emotion and short on content, both logical and literate.
2. I have to agree that CPQ has a lot of cash. (Of course, the last time I looked, DELL had a reasonable bank account, too.) That is one of what may be the only two valid statements you made. The other one is that CPQ will beat earnings. Won't shock me, though, because I expect them to do so.
3. You assert that CPQ has better management. May I ask what metric you use? Last I heard, DELL ranked #1 in share price growth on the S&P 500 in 1996/7, and #3 on the Business Week 50 honor roll of the best corporate performers. Do you have a serious dyslexia, that somehow transmits "CPQ" every time you read "DELL"? Or did CPQ and Eckhard Pfeiffer garner those honors?
4. You claim that Mr. Dell is an idiot. Do you have some direct access to his educational records and IQ test scores? Or do you say that because he may not be a fellow member of MENSA? Or do you base your statement on his taking almost 14 years to take the company he started in his room at college into the Fortune 500. Or do you measure by his only twice being named CEO of the year? Are you having a really bad acid trip, Najib, or is this your first time to drink a quart of Mescal? If Michael Dell is an idiot, then you and I would probably be classed as rocks, unless there is something lower on the scale.
5. I don't buy DELL puts, Najib, I sell them. On Friday, I garnered about $2400 on 5 puts I had sold. Would have sold more, but my broker told me "A man's got to know his account limitations!"
6. You claim the best idea Michael has come up with is repurchasing company shares. If you had investment choices which would yield you ~6% (bonds), 10-25% (S&P index fund), or 50+% (DELL stock), where would you put your money?
Come on back when you're sober and lucid.
