I've ordered Metastock, incidentally. I should clarify a little on the subject of QP scan values matching those in Window on Wall Street. I'm not setting out to rewrite formulas in QP so that values agree with those in WOW (I promise!). I'm taking a closer look at scans as I try to develop new ones, and sometimes I'm finding inconsistencies in them, or strange results in outputs. When I do, I look at how the scans are written, and sometimes I find problems. In the case of the CCI scan, changing abs was necessary, based on my understanding of the formula for CCI. After I changed it, I found that the values were exactly the same as those in WOW, and some very unusual values (900, for example) disappeared. I rely to some extent on CCI, and I wanted an accurate CCI scan in QP. When I'm plugging away on scans, I do find it helpful to check values against those in WOW -- as I did with slope. It often shows me I'm on the right path. But I'm never tempted to adjust formulas arbitrarily so that they get values closer to those in WOW. Soon, I'll have Metastock, so I'll have more controls in my lab.
