TBS, I am inclined to agree with you. I know some of these bright and intelligent people who support Trump, and though I think he is a duplicitous loon (his one redeeming feature possibly being an incentive to pull back from every kind of war in every kind of place) ...... I have been struggling to understand how sensible people can watch him in action without cringing, as if someone was running their nails on a blackboard right next to their ears. I don't have a more apt image. One day I may understand. But then, perhaps it is better for me if I never do. I still wonder about the deep state. Sometimes it seems it exists. Sometimes it seems it doesn't. I think we are all fighting things we don't quite understand because the information we are being fed (regardless of our trust in the source) is a veil that gets more complex by the day. Is there rampant corruption all over the place from the highest places in China to the highest places in DC? Of this I have no doubt. :)
