The threat of terrorism is a political issue more than anything. If terrorists brought down one American airliner a month for a year, killing 300 people each time, 3600 would die. That is less than the number of American deaths taking the Island of Leyte in WWII, and far less than the annual number of deaths (70,000) from drug over doses. Yawn.
