Give me a break...WindowsCE is not a monopoly, not even close. There is no relation between the dominance Windows95 on x86 and the newbie WinCE, a nacent platform; hence no way for them to "leverage their monopolistic position." Get some perspective, will you?

The only thing that WinCE has going for it is that being from Microsoft gives it credibility. That's all, and that's perfectly fine.

What did they to 3Com (who, BTW, got PalmPilot from US Robotics, who got PalmPilot from acquiring Palm Computing) with the naming thing was simply a business tactic. And they do have a valid* argument in that "laptop" is used on your lap, "HandHeld PC" is used in your hands, and "PalmPC" is used in your palm.

* Valid in terms of logic.
