Doug & Thread: My first decision, in the prepping process, focused on "location, location.", though from a quite different perspective than the common R.E. industry rule of thumb. In late 2007, after several years of extensive reading, made a number of key conclusions inescapable? Was clear the time had come to accelerate my search for a more rural local area with the natural resources & demographic characteristics we wanted to significantly improve our family's odds of not only surviving, but prospering in future decades. Worth repeating "what we wanted". There's more than one set of criteria for a good relocation target depending up your individual needs and preferences. My only caveat is risks are more complex and difficult to anticipate in moderate to hi population regions. Will share the rest of our prepping process when time allows.
