Gold: Domino effect? If the U.S. Shutdown goes longer than three months. By the numbers (I may be off by a couple million). Americans 800,000 jobs effects 7 indirect jobs by the shutdown. Approximately 5-6 million jobs will be effected by the shutdown. It'll effect Canada, Mexico, South America, European Union and the Asia-Pacific countries economies. Approx. 20-30 million out of work?
