"Are you suggesting that under such circumstances, one is achieving income and can live off of that dividend stream?" Yes, stocks fluctuate in value and T is unlikely to go to zero value. Again, we have no plans to sell these income producers so the market fluctuations are moot. Your thinking is short term.
