I'm listening. I know of five people in my circle of friends who developed asthma or asthmatic symptoms when they quit smoking. Some have said that smokers are actually allergic to the stuff they smoke.

I think the rage over the hazards of second-hand smoke took hold because first-hand smoke could not be made the scapegoat, and another villain was required. Do you nonsmoking folks ever go into nursing homes? Well, you can cut the smoke in those places with a knife! There are lots and lots of healthy old smokers in those places.

I am somewhat concerned about all the additive put in the so-called light brands of cigarettes. A lot of the blame for tobacco-related illlness may be misplaced, because a lot of people are smoking things that are not just tobacco.
