Good points. I think the auto thing is the most speculative of my three, too, although there was an Intel(?) announcement I think last week along those lines.

I still like the consumer electronics possibility, though. If cable TV boxes will contain Java, why wouldn't a "cable-ready" TV? From there it's a short step to including a browser and the electronics needed for cable access to the Internet.

At any rate, something about the press announcement says "mass market" to me, so I think people who expect it to be another computer manufacturer may be off base. Most of them are already on board, anyway.
