You don't have H1B visas for finance guys like for engineers. If we turned that 180 the bright guys would go into engineering and engineers would be making the big bucks. The Fed has much less influence on the monetary markets than in the past. There are plenty of liquidity sources elsewhere and that's why they can only raise the funds rate so much as buyers are going elsewhere.
