I have not received the sales plan as of yet, but I have been told that it is rewarding Sales people for closing orders ASAP. 30% of compensation payout will be paid to the associate on the taking of the order. This has never been the case in NCR history that people are actually paid on the order vs. the revenue attainment. I am told their are other aspects that incent sales people to close business as early as possible. When I get the plan, I'll let you know.

Regarding Solaris, the enhancements being made by NCR on Solaris are primarily just a port from NCR UNIX MP RAS to Solaris. So the work involved is much less than actually re-developing software for a whole new OS such as NT. The R&D dollars for NCR UNIX MP RAS are substantial and when we finally move 100% to Solaris than the R&D Dollars being spent on OS development can be spent on other things that will have a greater impact on the bottomline.
