The difference between left-wing extremists vs. right-wing extremists

(Copy-pasta'd from We Are Capitalists)

While I understand that, to some degree, the right has its own issues regarding oddball fringe elements (the more conspiratorial nature of Alex Jones comes to mind), I do not for a moment believe that both the crazy-right and crazy-left are equally concerning.

The important distinction is that crazy right wing theories largely exist as a FRINGE element, stemming from NON-mainstream sources. They aren't so much a reflection of mainstream conservative ideology as they are a reminder that every ideological spectrum has a portion which exists outside its core.

Contrast this to wacky leftist ideology which in the last 30 years has gradually taken over academia, nearly all of Hollywood and NYC media production, all mainstream talk shows (both daytime and night), almost the entirety of the tech industry, and the majority of mainstream news television networks.

In short, the wacky wing of the left has almost total control on mainstream content creation, with content creators imposing banishment, career ending firings, deplatforming efforts, censorship, and blacklisting, against anyone who thinks differently than themselves. Yes, there are wacky elements of every political ideology, but presently, it is only the wacky LEFT which has gone mainstream. Most crazy right wingers are still on the fringes.

I think it's far more sensible to be concerned by the crazy left's disproportionate influence than by the crazy right's mere existence. The crazies exist in both parties, but while most of the oddballs who exist on the right are relegated to obscurity, crazy left wingers are successfully influencing our entire culture from schools to commentary, news to comedy, movies to TV shows, and even social networking and trending news stories.

THAT is the greater concern.
