SCOC and their auditors/Wall Street Journal
Picked up this from another thread.
********************************************************************
off topic: scoc, the santa cruz / unix folks, took a hit friday. the wsj concluded their report with this, now familiar sort of caution:

"Investors who are concerned about SCO might want to check out a recent Securities and Exchange Commission filing, According to the filing, SCO on Dec. 30 dismissed its auditor KPMG Peat Marwick LLP and replaced the firm with Coopers & Lybrand LLC. Although it is not unusual for a company to switch auditing firms, KPMG had questioned the reliability of SCO's system for monitoring the quantity of inventory held by distributors and determining allowances for returns and exchanges from the distributors. SCO responded by saying the issue was a result of dealing with the many different systems used by its distributors to to track inventory."

Seems like software companies everywhere can't resist the temptation.
